Lalique glass refers to the exquisite glasswork created by French artist and designer René Lalique (1860–1945) and later by the luxury brand that bears his name. Initially celebrated for his Art Nouveau jewelry, Lalique turned to glassmaking in the early 20th century and became a leading figure in the Art Deco movement. His designs are renowned for their delicate craftsmanship, combining frosted and clear glass with intricate reliefs, stylized natural motifs like nudes, flowers, animals, and abstract patterns. Lalique pioneered innovative production techniques, including press-molded glass, which allowed for elegant yet affordable decorative objects such as vases, perfume bottles, car mascots, and lighting fixtures. Today, Lalique glass is highly collectible and continues to be produced by the Lalique company, maintaining the founder's legacy of sensual form, refined detail, and modern elegance.
