Kurtis N. Thomas (born March 26, 1955, in Fresno, California; raised in Mobile, Alabama) is a fine-art printmaker celebrated for his richly detailed, hand-pulled serigraphs. A BFA graduate from the University of South Alabama (1977), Thomas initially worked in commercial art before turning professional around 1981. Since then, he has produced limited-edition serigraphs—often requiring 20 to 80 stencils each—with subjects ranging from whimsical cats and coastal scenes to floral motifs and seasonal, Biblical imagery, especially his annual Christmas series, which proved popular with collectors. His silkscreen technique emphasizes mass, color, and texture, yielding painterly works that have earned him a strong reputation as a serigraphy master. His work has appeared in galleries and juried exhibitions nationwide and is held in private and corporate collections across the U.S., Japan, England, Australia, and Canada.
