Koso Sato was born in Japan in 1948, and graduated from Musashino Art University. In 1977, he went to study at École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, receiving Superior Award from Santama Artists Exhibition. In Koso Sato's artwork, there are vivid colors bringing out a romantic feeling, as well as strong expressionism and post-modernism expressing his thought. Elements he paints, whether people, scenery, or still life, are not merely what they appear. They all possess some certain symbolisms or messages, creating a subtle and lively scene of Mother Nature.
