Ken Tracy (Born 1952) American, (2) Cobalt Blue and White Ceramic Pottery Vases. Both are adorned with the artist's signature style creating nature-inspired shapes and patterns with an etching technique. One is squat and squash shaped, the other tall with an overhanging lip. Both signed on bases. Smaller one dated 2014 on base, taller one dated 2016. Small paper labels with information attached to both.

Kenneth Lee Tracy was born in Bentley, Louisiana in 1952. From an early age he showed an interest in art, but in high school a particularly excellent art teacher inspired him to follow the same path. He earned his B.S. in Art Education at Louisiana College in 1974, and a M.A. in Painting at Northwestern State University in 1978. He spent the next thirty years teaching in various schools throughout Louisiana, and helped three of them develop their art programs, particularly building kilns and structuring pottery classes. Tracy retired in 2017 and settled in Pineville to focus on his own ceramics full time, and is well known throughout the South for his distinctive cobalt blue and white vases with intricate floral patterns and foliage designs, inspired by the local plant life of his home. Using the sgraffito technique where contrasting colors or slips are applied to a surface and then scratched to reveal the underlying color or clay beneath, he continues to etch his original works free-hand in his studio space Ken Tracy Pottery in nearby Rapides Parish. He lectures throughout the state frequently, and his pieces are highly sought after by collectors.
