Keiko Mukaide (Born 1954) Japanese, Wire Wrapped Glass Ball Sculpture. Glass ball sphere that is being protected by chaotic yet supportive wires creating a nest or cage. Appears unsigned. 

Proceeds from this sale will benefit students at the Ringling College of Art & Design.

Keiko Mukaide, born in Tokyo in 1954, is a renowned Japanese-born glass artist based in Scotland, with degrees from Musashino Art University and the Royal College of Art in London. Known for both intimate glass objects and large-scale installations, she works with techniques like kiln-forming, casting, and dichroic glass on wire nets—her notable works include Memory of Place and Light of the North. Her art is held in major institutions like the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Corning Museum of Glass, and she was shortlisted for the 1998 Jerwood Applied Art Prize.
