"Nine Lives II", viscosity etching on paper, numbered 58/100, printed in 1997. Artist Julita Jones first became involved with printmaking as an undergraduate at U.C. Santa Barbara. Originally known for her colorful and whimsical serigraphs, she now specializes in viscosity etching. This somewhat unpredictable process is a way of layering several inks of different viscosities on just one etching plate, thus doing away with having to register different plates.
