Juan Andereggen was born in 1958 in Santa Fe, Argentina. He studied drawing and painting with Jaime Rippa and Juan Grela, and has exhibited both with them and individually since 1981. His mixed media sculptures are described as picture boxes, figurines, or assemblages, and are known for avoiding sharp and bright colors, focusing on austerity and the natural weather-beaten colors of the components. His work has been in museums in Argentina, California, and Switzerland, winning him numerous awards, and he is still working in Santa Fe today.
