Josef Rindskopf (1829–1890) was a renowned Bohemian glassmaker from Teplice (then Teplitz) in the Austrian Empire who co-owned the family firm Brüder Rindskopf. After his death, four of his sons founded Josef Rindskopf’s Söhne A.G. in 1891, expanding operations to include factories at Dux and Tischau. The company became celebrated around 1900–1905 for its Art Nouveau iridescent glass—especially the evocative “Pepita,” “Grenada,” and “Diluvium” lines featuring pulled-feather and oil-spot patterns. Their output ranged from ornate, decorative vases to pressed and carnival glass. Though the business struggled post–World War I, shifting to pressed glass, and ultimately declared bankruptcy by 1927, Rindskopf glass remains highly collectible for its luminous surfaces and richly decorative style.
