Jose Ramon Lerma (1930-2016) American, Lithograph. Titled 'To Janie' in the lower left. Signed in the lower right. Lower middle says 'Hi'. Janie is Lermas artist friend Jane Oka. Jose Lerma is known for Abstract expressionist painting. Jose Ramon Lerma, a San Francisco artist whose work spanned seven decades, Jose was born in 1930 in the Salinas Valley, the oldest of ten children. As a student in 1948, his artistic talent was noted by his teachers. He was awarded a scholarship to California School of Fine Arts (now SFAI), one of its first Latino students.
