Artist Biography: John Timothy Hall is an American-born painter living in Cartagena de Indias for more than 30 years. His first calling was always painting. Both of his parents were artists, so instead of going to an art school he went to the University of Pittsburgh to study art history, with focus on Western European painting. This helped set his course as an artist over the years, but more than anything he credits his art and his bilingualism to opening his horizons. Eventually he settled in a new culture in the Caribbean coast of Columbia, where he lives today.
