This is a beautiful etching of a church by John Taylor Arms, done in 1937. Arms studied architecture at MIT in Boston, served in the Navy, then devoted himself to etching. His initial subject was the Brooklyn Bridge. Then he worked on images of Gothic churches and cathedrals in France and Italy. He also made a series of prints of American cities. The etching is signed and dated in the margin on the bottom right. The overall size is 17 3/4 x 11 3/4 in. wide and the sight size is 16 1/2 x 10 3/4 in. wide.
