John Matthew Moore (Born 1963) American, Numbered Green Nautilus Shell Serigraph. Signature in print bottom right. Numbered 13/295 in white pen bottom left. Framing label on back at bottom, with another label at top of back that includes a title: "Chocolate Shells." 

Condition: Apology to frame. Overall great.

John Matthew Moore was born in 1963 in Claxton, Georgia, and grew up on an idyllic farmstead which inspired him to begin painting at an early age. Over the years a love of local flora and fauna led him to become particularly fascinated by old European botanical and specimen prints, and he soon gained fame for reproducing them in stunning oversized gouache paintings on massive canvases. The combination of 17th and 18th Century subjects with his photorealistic approach has resulted in his works being prominently displayed in public and corporate collections along the East Coast since the early 1990s, and today he continues to work and show his pieces from his home studios and his own galleries in Camden, Maine and Washington, D.C.
