John Magill (20th Century) American, Abstract Landscape Oil on Masonite. Depicts a city scene, like houses boxed together on a hillside. Signed lower right. Attributed and dated '64 on back.

John Magill studied in Paris at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere, in Madrid at the famed Escuela de Bellas Artes, and at the California School of Fine Arts.  He traveled extensively in North America and exhibited at the Delgado Museum of New Orleans, the Frye Museum of Art in Seattle, and the Palace of the League of Honor in San Francisco. He had a two-man exhibition in 1964, and his abstract landscapes have been highly sought after by collectors.
