Joan Miró (1893–1983) was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and ceramicist known for his surreal, whimsical artworks that blended abstraction with playful, organic forms. Influenced by Catalan folk art, surrealism, and automatism, his work often featured bold colors, floating shapes, and dreamlike imagery. Miró rejected traditional painting methods, seeking to express pure creativity and the subconscious mind. His diverse body of work includes paintings, sculptures, murals, and prints, many of which have become iconic in modern art. Today, his influence endures through major collections worldwide, including the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona.
