Originally from Montreal, she studied European civilization in Paris and has lived on Salt Spring Island since 1990, where she founded the Jill Louise Campbell Fine Art Gallery in Ganges in 1992 and continues to exhibit her work. Her art draws on influences ranging from West Coast scenery to scenes from France, Italy, India, China, and Tibet, often evoking a sense of place, narrative, and emotional connection through painterly and sometimes symbolic compositions.
