Jay Vallo (Born 1959) Native American, Acoma Pueblo Hand-Painted Pottery Vase. Exquisitely detailed linework throughout making complex geometric shapes and optical illusions. White interior. Signed in a line on the bottom.

Jeanette Vallo, “Nah-Sde-Te,” known professionally as “Jay,” is a Native American artist who was born into the Acoma Pueblo in New Mexico in 1959. She was inspired to continue the tradition of working with pottery by observing her grandmother, Lita Garcia, at a very young age, and comes from a long line of pottery makers and painters. She began working on her own unique hand-painted patterns when she turned 18, and has been creating eye dazzling starbursts and fine line designs on wedding vases and other shapes of pottery ever since. She signs her pottery as Jay Vallo, Acoma, and her brother Brian Chino, sisters Corrine Chino and Germaine Reed, and her mother Edna Chino all work side-by-side with her at the pueblo to keep the family legacy alive.
