Jay Strongwater (Born 1960) American, Small Gilt Metal Tray or Picture Frame. Gold-toned exterior over metal with a glass center that can be slid out of the top. Perfect for displaying something on at a slight angle or for putting a tiny picture in behind the glass. 

Size: 3 x 3 in. 

Jay Strongwater was born in 1960 and grew up in New England, attending the Rhode Island School Design where his career was launched before he even graduated in 1981. His unique bejeweled objets d’art landed him representation at many of New York City’s largest department stores in the early 1980s, and at the age of 23 he met designer Oscar de la Renta, with whom he began collaborating on runway shows. In 1995 he shifted to home accessories, making jewel encrusted picture frames at first, and in 1998 his Jewels For The Home business supplanted his love of fashion. Today over one hundred highly trained artisans continually craft new pieces at his workshops in New York and Rhode Island, with an extensive and unique line of furniture, lighting, and decor.
