Jaroslav Svoboda (born 1938 in Sokoleč, Czech Republic) is a renowned Czech glass artist celebrated for his innovative use of blown and cast glass techniques. Trained at the Glass Industry School in Železný Brod and the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague under Stanislav Libenský, Svoboda developed a distinctive style marked by clean lines, dynamic forms, and a masterful play of light and transparency. After early success at the Crystalex glassworks, he founded the Svoboda Karlov Studio in 1990, which became a center for cutting-edge glass art. His work is featured in major museums worldwide, including the Corning Museum of Glass and the Victoria and Albert Museum, cementing his legacy as a key figure in contemporary glassmaking.
