Stand of trees, reminiscent of the style of Paul Cezanne, oil on board, signed lower right. James Welsh Elliot was born in Stockton, California, and by 1926 he was working in San Francisco for the printing firm Taylor & Taylor, which he later purchased and ran until 1961.
