This painting was done by James Joseph, a Haitian artist. It is signed and dated '82 in the lower right, and it reads "Cap Haitien", a port city on the north coast of Haiti. This is an outdoor school scene in Cap Haitien. The overall size is 29 3/4 x 37 3/4 in. wide and the sight size is 22 3/4 x 30 3/4 in wide. Provenance: the Hirsch estate.
