Jacqueline and Lee Bouvier, "One Special summer" (An Eleanor Friede Book, 1974). 

One Special Summer is a memoir written by Jacqueline Bouvier (later Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis) and her younger sister Lee Bouvier, originally composed in 1948 and published posthumously in 1974, that chronicles their shared summer working and traveling in postwar Europe. Written in alternating voices and illustrated with Jacqueline’s sketches, the book captures the sisters’ youthful observations of art, culture, people, and place with wit, curiosity, and intimacy. Beyond its charm as a coming-of-age travelogue, the memoir offers a rare, unguarded glimpse into Jacqueline’s early artistic sensibility and narrative voice, revealing the foundations of the elegance, perception, and cultural fluency that would later define her public life.
