Jack Wisby (1869-1940) American, Oil on Board. Titled "Bolinas Lagoon". Signed in the lower left. In the original frame. Jack Wisby is known for Landscape, seascape, engraver. Jack Wisby was a California artist known for his landscape paintings of Northern California. His detailed painting style reflects his early experience as an engraver. He had no formal training in art but often took sketching trips to Yosemite and Lake Tahoe, and created oil paintings from his sketches. His landscape paintings often included a water reflection and were created using a soft brush stroke.
