Jack Dowd, Born 1938: Jack Dowd is an acclaimed American modern sculptor known for his social realist, life-size figures. He captures the boisterous and eccentric characters of American society with affection, humor, and satiric wit. His work is exhibited in museums and galleries nationwide, recognized by "Who's Who in American Art," and collected internationally. Dowd gained significant recognition for "I Love New York," a punk rocker sculpture that won "Best of Show" at the 1989 Coconut Grove Arts Festival.
