This is a lithograph by Isabel Bishop, an American painter and graphic artist who depicted urban scenes of Union Square in New York City from the 1930's to the 1970's. She was best known for her depiction of American women, and in the post-war years her works turned to more abstract scenes of New Yorkers walking and traveling on the streets or in the subways of the city. She had many exhibitions at the Whitney Museum of American Art, among others.
The lithograph is numbered XXIV out of XXV in the margin on the lower left and signed in pencil on the lower right. The overall size is 17 x 14 in. wide and the sight size is 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 in. wide.
