Original oil on canvas by Isaac Maimon, signed "Maimon" in the lower left. Bold and bright societal painting of a woman. Maimons works are similar to that of Toulouse Lautrec, as is this painting.
Provenance: purchased from the artist. Label verso from Purveyors of Fine Art.
Maimon did military service and then studied at the Avni Institute of Fine Art in Tel Aviv where he was exposed to the Paris school. In 1980, he began a teaching career, starting at the School of Visual Arts in Beer-Sheba and later at the Kaye Art Academy. By the late 1980s, he was a Professor of Art at Ben-Gurion University in Beer-Sheba.
