Impressive Frank Colson clay horse seemingly with clay braided tail, blanket, saddle and mane added after the body was formed. Colson, a noted Sarasota ceramacist & sculptor who died Aug. 2015, was dedicated to exploring new methods of artistic expression and a plethora of mediums throughout his world travels. An avid teacher of generations of artists, he specialized in masks as well as his "Han Horses", based on Chinese sculptures from 200 BC. This example has repaired damage on rear left leg & hoof, as well as a repaired blemish on the right shoulder.
