Homer Ross Williams was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 10th, 1901. He served in the Marines in World War I, where he was exposed to art for the first time while in France. Upon returning to the United States he was discharged in Los Angeles, California, and stayed there to explore the local art movement. He enrolled at the Chouinard Art Institute in 1926, where he met and married fellow artist Delphine Mary Simpson that same year. They moved to a home in nearby Glendale, where he worked as a painter, etcher, and explored sculpture as well. He passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack in a Los Angeles gallery on May 26th, 1954.
