Heywood-Wakefield Company is an American furniture manufacturer with roots dating back to the early 19th century. It was formed in 1897 through the merger of Heywood Brothers & Company of Gardner, Massachusetts, known for wicker furniture, and Wakefield Rattan Company of Wakefield, Massachusetts. By the 1940s–1960s, the company became especially famous for its mid-century modern designs in solid birch with blonde finishes, such as the "wheat" and "champagne" tones. Today, Heywood-Wakefield pieces are prized by collectors for their durability, craftsmanship, and timeless modernist style, particularly their dining sets, bedroom suites, and side tables.
