Persian Illuminated Hand Colored Ketubah - a Jewish marriage document written in Hebrew.
It is considered an integral part of a traditional Jewish marriage, and outlines the rights and responsibilities of the groom, in relation to the bride. In modern practice, the ketubah has no agreed monetary value, and is seldom enforced by civil courts, except in Israel. The date of the Ketubah is September 19, 1755 in the Gregorian calendar. In the Hebrew calendar, September 19, 1755 corresponds to the 6th day of creation, the 14th day of the month of Tishri in the Hebrew year of 5516. It was Erev Sukkot -- the evening of the Pilgrimage festival of Sukkot, which falls 4 days after Yom Kippur.
