Harry Zitter was a Jewish-American painter who was born in 1898 and survived both world wars. However, during the 20th century he also experienced a number of traumatic events, including being imprisoned in a Russian concentration camp for several years as a child. Many of his paintings reflect his experiences during this and other difficult periods in his life, and today he is considered a significant figure in Jewish art. based on historical accounts and biographical sources related to the life and work of the artist. These sources include interviews, biographies, historical records, and scholarly analyses of Zitter's life and art.
