Harold Cardwell Stadtmiller (1885-1952) American / California, Oil on Canvas Board. Titled 'Along the Carmel Coast' August 1921. Signed and titled on the back. Harold Stadtmiller is known for Coastline trees landscape painting, teacher. “H. C. Stadtmiller Succumbs Today at Exeter Home… a retired school teacher, Mr. Stadtmiller taught for 46 years before his retirement in 1950. … Mr. Stadtmiller was a graduate of Fresno State college and the California School of Arts and Crafts in Oakland. He was a charter member of the Exeter Kiwanis club and the piano accompanist for that group. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian church in Exeter until the time of his death. Moving to Exeter in 1910, Mr. Stadtmiller became vice principal … of the Lincoln Elementary School. In 1911… became principal… and held the position for 37 years… Last Oct. 11 Mr. Stadtmiller was grand marshal of the Exeter Emperor Grape Festival parade… never married…,”
