Claude Pissarro, grandson of the 19th century French impressionist Camille Pissarro, is the third generation standard bearer of the Pissarro line of painters. Hughes Claude Pissarro was born in the fashionable western section of Paris, Neuilly-sur-Seine, and began to draw and paint as a young child under his father's tutelage. During his adolescence and early twenties he studied the works of the great masters at the Musee du Louvre and the Musee du Jeu de Paume under the supervision of his father and uncles.
