Group of 4 Heywood Wakefield Chairs Likely Rilbert Rhode. The bottom reads Heywood Wakefield Gardner Massachusetts est. 1826. Style 2794a. Finish Wheat. Upholstery 4233. H101 C-9. Gilbert Rhode was one of the influential designers who helped modernize American furniture in the 1930s and 1940s, and this included advising and designing for companies like Heywood-Wakefield, as well as Herman Miller and Widdicomb.
