Greek Black-Glaze Cup With Handle.
Ca. 400-300 BC. Crafted from pottery, this captivating cup boasts a well-proportioned and bulbous body that gracefully tapers towards its base. The short neck of the cup elegantly flares out, culminating in an everted rim that enhances its aesthetic appeal and creates a harmonious visual balance. Connecting the shoulder to the mouth, a short loop handle offers a comfortable and secure grip, ensuring ease of use. In the realm of Greek pottery, this cup exemplifies the functional versatility that was characteristic of such vessels. It could have been employed as a drinking cup, serving as an elegant vessel for savoring wine or water.
