Gordon Franklin Peers (1909–1988) was an American painter and educator known for his disciplined approach to composition and color. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), he later became a prominent faculty member and chaired the Painting Department. Peers was influenced by the structural principles of Paul Cézanne and was associated with the Boston School of painting. His work, often characterized by strong geometric forms and a refined use of light, has been exhibited in major institutions. Through his teaching, he played a key role in shaping the next generation of American artists.
