Georgian English Sterling Silver Helmet Form Creamer Jug - 2.440 ozt. A popular form during the late 18th Century, this neoclassical design appears as a soldier's helmet turned upside down, elevated on a square stand with a flared lip and a high loop handle. Features bright-cut engraved floral swags, ribbon motifs, and beaded rims. A small piece of cloth is stuck to the underside, de minimis to the weight. The hallmarks are cleverly hidden within the band of decorations near the top, the crowned leopard indicating it was made prior to 1820 and the "G.G." potentially belonging to any number of silversmiths using those initials during the period (possibly George Gray).

Size: 2 x 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 in.

Weight: 2.440 ozt.
