Georges Briata was born in Marseilles, France, and grew up in an artistic milieu, as the son of a well known photographer and, his mother, a pianist for silent movies. It was clear from an early age he was destined for a life in the arts. He picked up a paint brush at the age of six and never put it down, moving to Paris in his late teens to pursue an art education.
