George Barrel (Italo George Botti, 1923-2003) was an American painter of Italian heritage born in Greenwich Village, New York. Educated at institutions like the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League, Botti produced vibrant, mid-century modern paintings. His work, often signed "George Barrel," features dynamic scenes of ballet dancers, town squares, and coastal life. These expressive compositions utilize bold palette-knife brushwork and lively color, making his distinctive style popular among collectors.
