Founded in 1878 by Jean Daum in Nancy, France, the studio achieved world acclaim during the Art Nouveau movement under the leadership of his sons, Auguste and Antonin. The atelier became famous for combining acid etching, enameling, and applied naturalistic motifs, ultimately winning a Grand Prix at the 1900 Universal Exhibition. Daum is particularly celebrated for reviving pâte de verre, an ancient Egyptian glass-casting technique that the historical manufacturer still uses today to handcraft fine art glass sculptures in Nancy.
