French Aubusson Style Decorative Botanical Design Needlepoint Wool Rug. Elegant border with multiple Rosaceae and Asteraceae family members around it in bright colors. The middle shows many of the same flowers and then some in taller format, surrounded by grasses and all growing towards the center in rectangular pattern. Very light impressions of five-petaled flowers and twigs fill the otherwise-empty cream toned center. 

Size: 69 x 46 1/2 in. 

Aubusson style refers to a luxurious, flat-woven textile tradition originating from the French town of Aubusson, characterized by pastel-toned, neoclassical, and baroque designs. Primarily producing rugs, carpets, and tapestries, this style features central medallions, floral garlands, architectural scrolls, and romantic, painterly motifs, often imitating Savonnerie carpets.
