Fred Zeller (1912–2003) was a French painter known for his vivid and surrealist-inspired works. A student of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Zeller began his career painting portraits and symbolic compositions before delving into surrealism under the influence of André Breton and Salvador Dalí. His art often explored themes of social commentary and political thought, reflecting his involvement in leftist movements, including Trotskyism. Zeller was also a writer and served as Grand Master of the Grand Orient de France, a leading Masonic organization. His works continue to captivate for their dreamlike imagery and intellectual depth.
