Frank Kleinholz (1901-1987) was an American artist known for his expressive, vibrant depictions of urban life, working-class people, and social themes. A self-taught painter, Kleinholz began his career later in life after initially practicing law. His work was influenced by modernist movements and often blended realism with elements of abstraction, addressing social justice and the human condition. Kleinholz's paintings and prints frequently portrayed scenes of New York City and everyday life, drawing attention to marginalized communities. His work was exhibited widely, earning recognition for its emotional depth and strong social commentary.
