Framed 1840 Whig Party William Henry Harrison Campaign Publication "The Log Cabin". Volume 1, No 23, dated October 23.

Provenance: A political broadsheet published by Horace Greeley, 15 issues planned to run May through November 1840. The initial circulation in southwest Ohio was said to number 10,000 copies. An authenticated original show here. By the end of Greeley's campaign a number of 80,000 copies was optimistically reported and eventually sold out. The provenance of this copy is established by an accompanying report from 1979 explaining the history and background of this copy. This framed document is part of the estate handed down to the consignor over the 12 generations of their late wife's family, who established the Kosher meat business in southwest Ohio from the 1820s. This is part of the legacy of this family, their in-laws, of which they are the last in that line. They are offering this fine document in the hopes that a suitable collector will add it to a collection from that period, believing that it will be a valuable complement to understanding the culture and politics of the time.
