This oil painting on canvas is of a still life of a yellow iris. Each painting by Ernest Baber is intended to be a rich collection of colors, textures and surfaces. His style is strongly reminiscent of the Dutch Masters, and he thinks of his subjects as "what Vermeer might pick if he were alive today."
