Emile Valentin Cardinal (1883-1958) French, Oil on Board Nude With Flower. Artist nude oil on board of a woman with a throw over her shoulders, holding a flower near her hips. Signed lower right, dated 1946. Attributed and titled "The Chataignerie (Vendee)" verso.

Émile-Valentin Cardinal (born 1867) was a French painter known for his detailed depictions of landscapes and urban scenes, particularly of Paris. Influenced by the Impressionists, Cardinal's paintings exhibit a keen attention to atmosphere and movement. His artistic contributions are recognized for their ability to evoke both the vibrancy and serenity of turn-of-the-century France.
