Emile Bellet was born in Provence, France and has been involved in art from a very young age. His first exhibition was held when he was only 19 years old. Before long Bellet’s self taught style caught the eye of Galerie Guigne, who supported his growth into an internationally acclaimed artist. Bellet’s Fauviststyle is characterized by vivid non-authentic color alongside elongated mannerist forms. The whimsical movement derived from Bellet’s impasto knife lends a sense of vision to his art, giving a sense of mystery and ethereal beauty to everything he produces. Bellet is known for his repeated use of female figures in his work whom he claims represent all women, timeless, ageless, and universal.
