Commemorating the American Bicentenary. by E H Parkin & Co, Sheffield, UK 1976, shaped square with a molded edge and canted corners, engraved to the center with the obverse of the Great Seal of the United States of America within a reeded roundel, the surface engraved with facsimile signatures of former American Presidents: George Washington to Gerald R. Ford, listed counterclockwise from top left, raised on four scroll feet. Marks very clear and well - spaced. Engraved with retailer CARRINGTON & CO LTD / 130, REGENT ST / LONDON W1 to reverse. Presentation inscription 'NO 56 OF A LIMITED EDITION OF 200 / AMERICAN BICENTENARY / 1776 - 1976' to reverse. Slight diagonal rocking between feet. Light surface marks and scratches. A limited edition in sterling silver to mark the Bicentenary reproducing the signatures of all the Presidents of the United States. This beautifully fashioned Salver is finely engraved with authentic and actual-size signatures of all the Presidents of the United States in chronological sequence. It is produced in a strictly limited edition of two hundred only. President Ford has been pleased to accept Number 1, and Number 2 has been presented to Mrs. Anne Armstrong, United States Ambassador to Great Britain. The Salver measures 13 ½ inches across and is supplied with a handsome presentation cabinet [not present].
