Elay E. Arnold (20th Century) American, Landscape with Horses Oil on Canvas. Depicts a herd of wild horses on some plains, a mountain range behind them. Pictorial mark in shape of "M" lower right. Signed and dated 12/4/81 on the lower right back. 

Overall Size: 27 1/4 X 31 1/2 in. 

Sight Size: 21 1/4 X 25 1/2 in. 

This Impressionist style oil painting captures a beautiful herd of horses in the midst of grazing in a field, with one particular horse curious about the artist, while in the background an enormous mountain range suggests the unspoiled vistas of the untamed Old West. Although signed and dated, no information can be found about the artist or their origins, nor the exact location depicted in the painting.
