Ekaterina Grigorieva (1928–2010) was a Russian painter celebrated for her lyrical abstractions and emotionally resonant floral compositions. Born in Moscow, she studied at the Moscow Intermediate Art School and later at the Surikov State Academic Institute of Fine Arts. Initially working as an engineer, she pursued painting as a passion, eventually studying under Eduard Drobitsky, a prominent figure in Moscow's unofficial art scene during the 1970s and 1980s. Grigorieva's art is characterized by its delicate interplay of color and form, often evoking musical and poetic associations. Her works, such as the painting Poppies – 3, showcase a unique blend of impressionistic still life and abstract expressionism, emphasizing themes of nature, joy, and the ephemeral beauty of life. Recognized as an Honored Artist of Russia, she was a member of the Petrovsky Academy of Science and Arts and the International Federation of Arts. Her paintings continue to be celebrated for their originality and emotional depth.
