Three principal patterns of European cutlery appeared in the first decade of the 19th Century, remaining popular ever since: they are Kings, Queens, and Hourglass patterns. Queens is the most decorative, with honeysuckle flowers and shell motifs. Kings is a more simplified version of the Queens, and Hourglass is the simplest of the three.
